Businesses must shout louder about the benefits of lower taxes20 June 2012The Chancellor George Osborne has implored businesses to help the conservatives push for lower taxes, without which it will become increasingly harder for further cuts in the top rate of income tax. Warning The Times CEO Summit that Britain faced a return to the “politics of envy” following an increase in anti-business sentiment, Mr Osborne criticised business bosses for their “near silence” when he lowered the top rate of tax from 50p to 45p in this year’s budget. He urged businesses to voice their concerns to politicians to facilitate the putting together of pro-business packages. |
