Easy Virtue – Commencement of Principal Photography3 March 2008
Chancery clients have contributed finance to Easy Virtue via various structures including Prescience Pictures Limited, a Chancery sponsored EIS opportunity. Easy Virtue is an adaptation of the Noel Coward play and is being produced in association with Ealing Studios. It stars Jessica Biel (The Illusionist, I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, Blade; Trinity), Colin Firth (St Trinian’s, Bridget Jones’ Diary, Love Actually), Kristin Scott-Thomas (The Other Boleyn Girl, The English Patient, Gosford Park, Four Weddings and a Funeral), and Ben Barnes (Stardust, and starring as Prince Caspian in the forthcoming The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian).
The project has an award-winning team of film-makers, including costume designer Charlotte Walter (A Mighty Heart, The Bourne Supremacy); Oscar® and BAFTA winning make up and hair designer Jeremy Woodhead (Pirates of the Caribbean, The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring), production designer John Beard (The History Boys, Enigma, Brazil), cinematographer Martin Kenzie, and BAFTA winning composer Marius de Vries (Moulin Rouge, Romeo and Juliet).
Easy Virtue is directed by Stephan Elliott, famous for movies such as The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert and Eye of the Beholder, and is produced by Barnaby Thompson, Joseph Y. Abrams and James D. Stern. Easy Virtue is written by Elliott and Sheridan Jobbins, based on the Noel Coward play of the same name, and is filming over seven weeks on location in England.
